I did it again.
Set up a blog and wrote absolutely nothing important so far. Well done!
But here’s something I’ve been thinking about a lot these days, so if you’ve got a minute, you’re encouraged to continue reading!
##How to be creative?
That’s a question I’ve been asking myself quite often, lately.
Since I’ve been such a passionate blogger so far, here’s some background knowledge:
At the end of 2014 Philipp, a friend of mine, and I “founded” FAUDroids, a personal project where we’re trying to develop an Android app every month in 2015. Sounds tough and is indeed quite time consuming.
Nevertheless it’s also a lot of fun. Kind of a distraction to the “boring” university stuff. But don’t get me wrong, my studies are still interesting, it’s just not that kind of way to become creative as our little project is.
So we started developing in January and everything looked promising. Time passed by and soon friends of us hopped onto the FAUDroids train and everything became even more fun. Unfortunately it also started to become harder and harder to come up with cool ideas for new apps. Since we’re trying to come up with fresh ideas and don’t want to release just another F*** B* clone this is kind of an issue. And this month it’s even worse. I don’t even have a single idea for an app this month, which is freaking me out. It’s not that I wouldn’t try to come up with something cool, but everything that comes to my mind has either already been developed or is just a bunch of random thoughts.
That’s what made me think about if there might be a way to become creative whenever it’s necessary. At least we cannot be the only ones with this particular problem. There are so many creative people out there who also have deadlines but still manage to get their stuff done in time.
What’s their secret?
Do they simply hold an immense amount of ideas in their heads, or do their ideas just keep coming once they’ve experienced something inspirational? Might it even be possible to learn creativity?
Unfortunately I have not yet figured it out, but I’ll keep on trying since I definetly want to keep FAUDroids going!
